This scene was captured just after sunset in the early spring of 2013 on the last day of a dedicated Central Park photo expedition. Over the course of four days, I had the pleasure of exploring the entire park by foot. This was particularly rewarding having grown up in the New York City area. While I had visited the park many times in the past, this was the first time I took the opportunity to cover it exhaustively in my quest for special vistas like this.

Nightfall at The Pond Dreamscape fuses computational photography and artificial intelligence; specifically, it consists of a 42-shot, 279+ megapixel HDR panorama I captured at ‘The Pond’ in Central Park in April 2013 that was ‘interpreted’ by a proprietary enhanced version of Google’s “DeepDream” AI software in April 2017.
