In the summer of 2014, our family moved to Park City, Utah, for seven weeks so our son could train at Utah Olympic Park to develop his mogul skiing aerial skills.

Many times over the course of our stay we drove by the picturesque Hi Ute Ranch and I promised myself I would attempt to capture its magic before we left the state. In our final week, I forced myself out of bed one morning before the sun rose and braved the surprisingly cold mountain air to capture this image just as the first rays were illuminating this idyllic scene.

Hi Ute Ranch Dreamscape fuses computational photography and artificial intelligence; specifically, it consists of a 42-shot, 190+ megapixel HDR panorama I captured in July 2014 that was ‘interpreted’ by a proprietary enhanced version of Google’s “DeepDream” AI software in February 2016.
